Mommy's first words

Finally, gained enough strength, energy and mood to start my blog again. Guess i owe everyone for just writing something.

So, here's a picture of the baby, at 13 weeks. Only about 3 inches long crown to rump — roughly the size of a jumbo shrimp — and weighs just about an ounce. Cute huh? Despite the small proportions, there's a fully formed baby inside. His tiny, unique fingerprints are already in place. His kidneys and urinary tract are functional, and he's starting to urinate out the amniotic fluid he's been swallowing. Yucks!!

Morning sickness is not as bad these days... but heartburn is still very prominent. Especially the feeling of food being stuck in my throat. It's always a dilemma for me: food gets stuck, so can't breathe well, therefore eat less. But then the stomach feels empty and i've never liked to starve myself, so don't like that feeling either. But then again, I don't like the feeling of heartburn either. So it's a 2-headed snake biting me top and bottom.

Just last night, felt hungry before going to sleep at about 12mn. Wanted to eat something, but was too tired and worried that after eating, I can't sleep because of the heartburn. So forced myself to sleep. Woke up at 2am.... feeling restless all over the body and could hear my empty stomach growling. So, told my little baby that mommy will not starve him/her anymore. Got up, made a glass of Nestum and a piece of mooncake (minus the yolk). Read a book while i ate, and I didn't sleep till 4am. Sigh....an example of a night in the life of an always "sick" mommy.
